Con Edison

I’ve read chapters 1 and 2 of A Short History of The Movies, and basically learned that Thomas Edison was important, yet ruthless. A true entrepreneur. Here are a few of his early works:

And then the Lumier Brothers, the fathers of the documentary, though they also dabbled in early fictional film making (most importantly, the early arrival of physical comedy on screen, a great contribution to the silent film era, and my childhood).
